What Is It?
With Spring about to be sprung on us, why not get some stunning garden inspiration at the Johannesburg Garden Club’s Open Gardens Meander? Five previously unseen gardens will be made open to the public this September to raise funds for a wonderful cause – the Johannesburg Child Welfare.
With sustainable gardening more popular than ever, this year’s Meander will focus on beautiful sites producing herbs, fruits and vegetables from inspiring kitchen gardens.
Visitors can still expect individuality from each of the participating gardens though. They range from charming to sprawling, each boasting its own showstopper water feature. Every garden will also feature a plant sale with individual specialties including Clivias, Azaleas, Clematis, Irises and Johannesburg Garden Club members’ own cultivated plants. Refreshments and a tea garden will also be available at one of the gardens, giving visitors plenty of opportunity to relax and freshen up.
