Take An Adventure To Parys

Need to let your hair down and have a mini getaway? Want to travel far, but still keep it on local grounds? Then Parys is the place to be! Visit this artsy town for all your fun-filled outdoor adventures, shopping, festivals and so much more!

Why go there?

Parys is a small, artsy town that is home to interesting shops and is also close to the Vaal Dam. A major attraction in the area is the suspension bridge, which was built in 1918 to connect the town to Golf Island  – so if you’re planning on visiting Parys, be sure to add that to your to-do list.

There’s tons of activities to partake in and definitely something for everyone.

If you’re into water sports and love exploring then river rafting, dragon boat racing, fly-fishing, and water sports on the Vaal River are the types of outdoor adventures available for you and your family. These activities are tailor-made to suit the age and capabilities of participants, and safety gear, life jackets and helmets are provided.

If you’re a socialite that loves exploring, going out and having fun while partying away then the Dome Adventure Festival is your kind of vibe. This is a festival hosted in November every year, and offers live music, food stalls, mini markets and competitions. There are also mountain bike activities and the Crater Cruise and Sky Diving too.

For all animal lovers, the Dell Cheetah Centre is a must-visit. This centre is situated 10km outside of town, and gives you the freedom to interact with fully grown cheetahs. Sounds exciting, right?

If you’re not much of an adventurer and prefer the chilled back relaxed vibe, Parys is known as artsy town filled with vintage curio shops, and amazing art studios and great restaurants. One can visit the antique shops, pubs, delis, spas and restaurants and get some souvenirs to bring back home.
