Printmaking With The Zana Crew

Quirky patterns and beautifully-made products is what you’ll get from Zana. The talented ladies behind the brand held a printmaking workshop – read all about it!

The mother-daughter team at Zana have gained international renown for their innovative and quirky designs and prints – from clutch purses covered in Boston terrier puppy prints to scatter pillows decorated with cute cats, it’s a sure enough reason why these ladies have become a household name.

Zana has always wanted to host a screen printing workshop, and after much discussion and support from their clients they finally set a date and ran with it. The end product was such a huge success – hosted at their base of operation in Woodstock, Cape Town – that the girls decided to host the same workshop in Johannesburg.

At the workshop, attendees learn about the different types of fabric printing and how to decide which is best for the job at hand. The ladies are kind enough to hand out Zana goodie bags which makes attending worth more than its weight in gold.

The first class was held on 18 October 2015 at the Nomand & Co office space in Parktown North, and tickets to the event sold out within the first 24 hours of sale. It’s something you can’t afford to miss. The price per ticket is set at R1 800 and, according to the lovely Robyn at Zana Products, tickets for the January, February and March 2016 Joburg workshops will go on sale in December 2015.

Fair warning would be to grab a ticket as soon as they become available because there’s a limit of 10 people per workshop. Remember that the early bird catches the worm so keep an eye out on their website and subscribe to their mailing list to ensure that you don’t miss anything.
