Slimming Fruit And Veggie Smoothies

They say summer bodies are made in winter. So make sure you use this chilly season to slim down before the next summer comes around! Get your blender out and try these five nutrient-rich (and downright delicious) fruit and vegetable smoothies.


Spinach And Pineapple Smoothie

  • 1 pear
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1-2 celery sticks
  • 2T lime juice
  • 1 cup coconut water

Beetroot And Strawberry Smoothie

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 raw beetroot, peeled (shredded if you don’t have a high-speed blender)
  • 2T dried goji berries
  • 2T pomegranate seeds
  • 2 dates, pitted
  • Pinch of ground ginger
  • Pinch of ground vanilla
  • 1 cup almond milk

Cucumber And Celery Smoothie

  • 1 small cucumber
  • 2.5cm fresh ginger root
  • 2 celery sticks
  • 1 banana
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1T almond butter

Kale And Coconut Smoothie

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 4 cups kale (stems removed)
  • 2T ground flax
  • 1T chia seeds
  • 1 cup coconut milk

Avocado And Apple Smoothie

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 green apple, chopped
  • 1 cup kale (stems removed)
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup green grapes
  • 2T raw meal powder
  • 1 cup apple juice


Add all the ingredients of your preferred smoothie to your blender and puree for one minute or until completely smooth. Pour into two tall glasses and serve immediately.

Sipping on one of these tasty smoothies is a great way to increase your fruit and vegetable intake.
