The Princess and The Pea

The Barnyard Theatre’s line-up never fails to impress, with a broad range of theatre productions and quality shows ranging from children’s theatre to album launches. This week we look at the Princess and the Pea, a Hans Christian Anderson adaptation taking place across Joburg at various Barnyard Theatres.

This intriguing tale tells the story of a Prince who is in search of a suitable Princess, as per the Queen Mother’s orders. But day after day he returns home disappointed, as he is unable to find a desirable royal wife. He eventually meets an appropriate match, but his mother intercedes with a plan to test her lineage. A comedic and educational story follows.
