1. Visit A Public Pool

Joburg has plenty of public pools that need to be taken advantage of, especially in the summer period. What could be better than chilling out with some friends, chowing down on delicious food and cooling off from the extremely hot summer sun … followed by lots and lots of tanning, of course?

3. Have A Picnic In The Sky

Picnics in the Sky is pretty much what it sounds like. Here’s how it works – you meet your guide at Market on Main, where you’ll receive a picnic basket with essentials (utensils and a blanket) and will then get 30 minutes to wander around the market and fill your basket with something to eat and drink. Then, you’ll catch a ride to the top of Africa at Carlton Centre, where your jaw will drop as you take in the amazing views of the Joburg skyline from the 50th floor. It’s truly something that everyone should experience.

Where: Meet at Market on Main every Sunday.

The Nan Hua Buddhist Temple is located 70kms north east of Johannesburg. It’s a great sight for anyone and everyone to take in. You’re definitely going to want to take some pictures so don’t forget to bring a phone or camera along with you! You can arrive at the temple and just walk around, but there are events held there, too.

Where: 27 Nan Hua Road, Cultura Park, Bronkhorstspruit.

5. Take A Balloon Safari Trip

Who could say no to a hot air balloon ride over the scenic Magaliesberg range in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage site? No one, that’s who!
