Plan B Dessertery

Their beyond beautiful and tasty bubble waffles come in nine different flavours with options like the Bees Knees with vanilla ice cream, chocolate honeycomb and caramel sauce; the Toffee Apple with double caramel ice cream, green apple chunks and candied nuts; and the Wimbledon with vanilla ice cream, strawberries, crushed meringue, cream and chocolate sauce. Another quirk at Plan B Dessertery is the bottled water. Decorated with unique illustrations by Durban designers, the bottles have become collector’s items and people go to Plan B specifically to get their hands on this artwork.

Hidden between Jamie’s Italian and The Venue, Ciao is a popular brunch and lunch kiosk run by a handful of passionate individuals. Above and beyond their signature Ciao Sandwich, this little, hidden gem serves fresh bubble waffles made according to a traditional waffle recipe and crammed with extraordinary fillings.

Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream, Hyde Park

This one’s for the vegans! The son of an engineer and renowned photographer, Paul Ballen has expanded his backyard ice cream empire into a well-rounded business that now specialises in a range of vegan variations of our favourite dairy treat. Flavours include Caralishious Peanut Butter, Caralishious Vanilla Cinnamon, and Caralishious Toasted Coconut. These are sugar-free, while other health-conscious options are sweetened with xylitol. Head over to the Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream bar on the lower level of Hyde Park Shopping Centre and get your fill!
