Our Winter To-Do List!

We’re sure you’ve realised that its now, officially time to bust out the stockings, beanies, thermal socks, gloves and sherpa-lined jackets – the chilly season is here! It’s probably really tempting to stay indoors, huddled next to the heater or fireplace, sipping on a piping hot cuppa Joe and doing absolutely nothing. But if you’re looking to add a little excitement to your life and make the most of this miserable season, then why not consider layering up and doing our Winter To-Do List! Disney On Ice presents Dream Big!

Date: 22 June – 01 July 2018

Most of you (and your kids) would have grown up watching Walt Disney movies. Well, now you get to see these much-loved characters come to life and take to the ice with Disney on Ice – Dream Big! Believing is just the beginning when the empowering tales of eight Disney Princesses – Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, Jasmine, Aurora and Snow White – embark on incredible adventures, determined to make their dreams come true. Travel to the wintry world of Arendelle with royal sisters Anna and Elsa, and the hilarious Olaf from Disney’s Frozen as they learn that true love is the greatest magic of all. Be there to discover a whole new world with the daring Jasmine, and join Snow White, Aurora and Tiana as they remind you to always be strong, kind and fearless. This is a must for the whole family, so make sure you get your tickets ASAP.

Visit The Northgate Ice Rink

Date: 02 – 13 July 2018

All the Disney on Ice action is making us want to pull on a pair of skates ourselves! Since we don’t get those beautiful snowy winters we see in Europe, we need to compromise when it comes to the fun winter activities (like skiing and ice skating). Cue the Northgate Ice Rink! The chilly season is not complete without a visit to the rink for some ice skating and belly gliding across the ice. Sundays are family days, so make sure you rally up your loved ones for a fun day out together. And as if that wasn’t enough, they also have a holiday club for the little one from 02 – 13 July 2018. Booking is essential, space is limited.

The Winter Fair 

Date: 07 – 08 July 2018

The Winter Fair 2018 which will be taking place at the Nasrec JHB Expo Centre early this July is a must for the whole family! Expect a weekend filled with tantalising food stalls, unmissable bargains, exciting rides, an inflatable park, a cartoon parade, mobile acrobatics and fun shows perfect for you and your family. Do keep in mind that due to the family theme of this fair, there’ll be no alcohol sold. The entrance fee costs R25 per adult and it’s FREE for little ones under 2 and pensioners. Sounds like it’s going to be loads of fun!

The Turbine Art Fair 2018

Date: 12 – 15 July 2018

The annual Turbine Art Fair at The Turbine Hall in Newtown isn’t just an art fair, it’s a lifestyle event. Guests will have the opportunity to view an incredible range of fabulous artworks from galleries and artists around the country and start collecting with pieces that are reasonably priced for first-time buyers. Other than delighting your visual senses, you can also enjoy great food, live music and get the chance to meet new and interesting people.
