Coffee Shops To Check Out In The West Rand

Joburg Admin / February 13, 2017

Alice Art Gallery A hot spot for local artists to showcase their work, the Alice Art Gallery in Ruimsig has nestled itself deep into the hearts of local art lovers and coffee connoisseurs alike. Cafe d'Art forms part of the gallery and serves a mean cup of java and a lekker slice of cake. You can sit back, enjoy good music and take in the scenery of the Ruimsig Golf Course. Christie's Nothing complements brunch quite as well as a good cappuccino does. At Christie's Coffee Shop in Wilropark you can grab a filling brunch and a beautifully brewed double cap with froth. Christie's is a pretty chilled coffee shop and serves a mean omelette. It's the kind of place you treat granny to for a catch up over a cup of tea... or coffee for that matter. Ana Paula's Coffee Shop
  1. Italian pastries and locally roasted java beans. That's the order of the day when it comes to Ana Paula's Coffee Shop in Monument, Krugerdorp. It's a quaint little shop in the suburban heart of the West Rand and is often compared to the cafes found along the waterfront in Cape Town. It's chic, sexy and serves a mean cuppa. Their menu leans toward delicate southern European cuisine while keeping it local. It's the kind of place you go to when the Wimpy won't quite cut it.
The Rabbit Hole One of our favourite places for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner in the West Rand would be the Rabbit Hole in Krugersdorp North. This Alice in Wonderland-themed hotel and restaurant and cafe has stolen our hearts, and rightly so. The decor is adventurous, the staff beyond helpful and friendly, and the coffee on par with the baristas of Greenside. Spoil your loved one with a surprise trip to the Rabbit Hole - you won't be sorry. The Verandah Somewhere along the bend, where the main road, Ontdekkers, turns into Voortrekker, The Verandah in Kenmare is all the buzz - and has been for the past decade or so. What started out as a high tea venue soon evolved into a cafe (you can still have high tea there) that serves the best in breakfast and lunch. Their caps are delicious and if you twist the barista's arm, he'll add a lump of whipped cream on top of that order of yours.
